I want to play! how do I apply?

Our musicians are what make this event a success!

To apply to play this year’s event, please click the button at the bottom of this page. You’ll want to make sure you meet the requirements, so please keep reading below! Within the application, you can indicate whether you are already working with a host homeowner or if you need to be matched with a host.

The application deadline is August 15, 2024.

is this a paid gig?

Musicians who participate in Porchfest are donating their time to this event. It’s a great opportunity to invite the community to hear you play. Tip jars + Venmo are allowed/encouraged!

what are the requirements to perform?

As a Porchfest musician/band, you agree to play at an assigned host porch + time on Saturday, September 28 between 12:00pm and 6:00 pm. Each musician/band will perform for at least 60 minutes, but no longer than 90 minutes.

We also ask that you:

- Work with your area captain and host homeowner to adequately communicate set-up and take down needs early in the planning process

- Coordinate with the host homeowner assigned to you about the logistics of your performance (i.e. space needed, equipment, electricity needs, etc.)

- Connect with your host within 5 days of getting your porch + time slot confirmation

- Plan ahead for inclement weather! In the case of rain, work with the host homeowner on a plan to play under a tent, in the host's garage or covered porch

- Play at a sound level respectful to the neighborhood in which you perform

- Get the word out! Post on your social media prior to the event to promote the event at your host’s porch

how can I connect with others participating in this year’s Porchfest?

Talk with your community to see if someone in your neighborhood might be involved! Milford Porchfest also has a Facebook page for this event where musicians, homeowners, and the general public may connect. You can find information here on our website and #milfordporchfest on social media, too.
