I am a homeowner, how can I participate in Porchfest and what do I need to do to qualify?
We are so thankful to all of our hosts in prior years and look forward to our 2023 hosts. Homeowners in the City of Milford are encouraged to sign up their porch if they can agree to meet the following terms for 2023:
- Homeowners must have a front porch/stoop/area to host bands that is easily accessible by the street - no back yards.
- Homeowners are willing to communicate with musicians prior to event to arrange set-up/electrical needs.
- Homeowners will agree to leave 1 hour between musicians to allow adequate set-up and take down of their equipment. This will also give attendees the opportunity to visit other musicians in the neighborhood.
- Homeowners will do their best to keep sidewalks and roadways clear of event attendees.
- Some homeowners, at their discretion, elect to purchase additional liability insurance for the day.
- Homeowners are expected to post a sign at their home 2 weeks prior promoting the event. The sign can be homemade or professionally printed.
- Homeowners should notify their neighbors at least 2 weeks prior to the event in case they wouldn’t like to be home during the event.
Homeowners who do not meet the above requirements risk not having their musicians/bands promoted on our official map/list of locations.

I am a musician/band, how can I participate in Porchfest and what do I need to do to qualify?
Our musicians are what make this event a success!
- Musicians who participate in Porchfest are donating their time to this event (think of it as a great marketing opportunity to invite the community to hear you play and potentially grow new leads for future bookings). Tip jars are allowed/encouraged!
- Musicians will work with their area captain and homeowner to adequately communicate set-up and take down needs early in the planning process.
- Musicians will work with homeowner and area captain to set up Facebook events with @MilfordPorchfest as a co-host.
How do I choose where to go to listen to music?
Once homeowners and musicians have been approved, a digital map will become available. The map contains times, addresses, and musician names to help you determine where you want to go. We plan to have these digital Porchfest maps available a few days prior to the event, giving you time to pre-plan which musicians you want to see. This map will be available on this site and posted on our social media accounts.
I am a business interested in being a sponsor, what opportunities are there?
At this time, we do not have direct sponsorship opportunities however, our homeowners and area captains are often looking for port-o-let sponsors in their neighborhoods.
The cost to rent a port-o-let for the day typically starts around $300.
Port-o-lets must be placed on the homeowner's private property and leave roadways/sidewalks free for passage.
Individuals who have previously sponsored port-o-lets have hung a sponsorship sign with company logos/names at the designated location.
If you are interested in sponsoring a port-o-let, please reach out to milfordporchfest@gmail.com and we will be able to pair you with a neighborhood captain/homeowner interested in having a port-o-let to arrange sponsorship.

We will be taking orders on this website for merchandise that will be available for pickup in Milford prior to the event on September 9.
